Clarissa Moore

Club Director
Team: 15 Black
Years of Coaching Experience: 22 years
Years with South KC: 26 years
Bio: As the daughter of longtime coach Loretta Schwenk (Seager), I spent countless hours in gyms watching practices, helping around the team, and learning the game long before I ever stepped onto the court myself. From sitting in the stands at MidAmerica Nazarene University matches to spending time with players who became role models, I fell in love with the culture, relationships, and life lessons that sports provide. In 2000, my mom started South KC (SKC) Volleyball with a single team made up of me and my friends from Olathe South High School. What began as one local team quickly became a home for athletes and families from Frontier Trail, Olathe South, and the surrounding community. For many years, SKC remained a small program with just one or two teams, built on the belief that every athlete deserved an opportunity to play, grow, and compete. As an athlete, I competed in volleyball, soccer, and cheerleading, developing a passion for multi-sport participation that continues to shape my coaching philosophy today. After playing at Olathe South, where I earned First Team All-Conference honors as a senior, I continued my athletic career at MidAmerica Nazarene University, competing in volleyball, cheer, and later soccer. Today, as Director of SKC Volleyball, I am grateful for the opportunity to carry on the legacy my mom began more than two decades ago. What started as one team has grown into a thriving club that serves hundreds of athletes each year. My goal is to help young athletes develop confidence, resilience, leadership, and a lifelong love of sports. I believe some of life’s most valuable lessons are learned through competition, teamwork, and perseverance, and I am honored to help guide the next generation both on and off the court.

loretta schwenk

Assistant Club Director
Fall & Spring Pre-Development
Team: 14 Black
Years of Coaching Experience: 40 years
Years with South KC: 26 years
Bio: I was the founder and director of South KC Volleyball Club from 1999 to 2024. My passion for volleyball began when I attended MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1976. I played four years of varsity volleyball there and, after graduating, served as the head coach for five years. As my two daughters reached the age to begin playing club, I coached them at that level for several years. In 1999, I decided to start my own volleyball club. My goal was simple: to share my love for the game and help develop young athletes in a sport that had given me so much. Even today, at 67 years old, I love volleyball just as much as I did when I was a player! What began as a single team has grown into a program that has fielded between 10 and 15 teams each season. Watching the club grow and seeing young players develop both on and off the court has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

ALyssa ginavan

Administrative Assistant
Years of Coaching Experience: 15 years
Years with South KC: 17 years (2 played, 15 coached)
Bio: I grew up playing sports and was involved in athletics throughout my childhood. I went on to play at Olathe South High School, serving as the varsity setter during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. During that time, I also played club volleyball for Clarissa at South KC. In college, I played soccer and basketball at the University of Central Missouri. After graduating, I began coaching at South KC in the fall of 2012 during my student teaching semester. I continued coaching with SKC through 2024, when I stepped away following the birth of my second child. In addition to club coaching, I have coached volleyball at Prairie Trail Middle School since 2016 and became the head coach in 2020.

Meredith Little

After changing school districts, I continued my coaching career and currently serve as the Junior Varsity coach at Shawnee Mission South.

This season, I am excited to coach two 13s teams alongside my daughter. We have worked together as a coaching team for the past three years and have enjoyed considerable success both on and off the court. Our coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, personal growth, and teamwork. We strive to help athletes develop confidence in their abilities while learning the value of commitment, communication, and being a supportive member of a team.

I look forward to giving back to a program that played such an important role in shaping both the athlete and coach I have become. As a coach, I pride myself on helping young athletes build confidence in everything they do, both on and off the court. I strive to create a positive, encouraging environment where players feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow. I am currently a senior at UMKC studying Mathematics, where I serve as Treasurer of Volleyball Unites the World and am an intramural indoor volleyball champion. I love the intuition and quick decision-making aspect of volleyball. I understand the importance of discipline, technique, and fundamentals. I aim to create a competitive and constructive environment for athletes. I believe great teams are built on trust, empathy, and a culture that celebrates each player's success. I want every member to achieve their goals, and I will work hard to push, encourage, and support them along the way. My goal is for athletes to grow their skills, compete with confidence, and foster a lifelong love of the game. My six years at South KC had a tremendous impact on my life, and I learned so much from my coaches during that time. I hope to be as inspiring and influential to my players as Loretta, Clarissa, and Alyssa were to me. I am so hyped to be coaching and cannot wait to start the season!

Lily Beck

Team: 16 Blue
Years of Coaching Experience: 3 years
Years with South KC: This is my first season!
Bio: I began playing volleyball in 2nd grade with my mom as my coach and quickly developed a lifelong passion for the sport. I played school volleyball through high school and started competing in club volleyball in 6th grade. Throughout high school, I also assisted my mom in coaching volleyball at Visitation, which sparked my interest in helping young athletes develop both on and off the court. In addition to volleyball, I was involved in swimming and rowing during high school and later continued my volleyball career as a member of the University of Arkansas Club Volleyball Team. While attending college, I also gained coaching experience as a swim coach. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in May 2025 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Psychology, along with minors in Legal Studies and Public Policy. I currently work as a Contract Operations Paralegal for a language translation and interpretation company and plan to attend law school in the future. Athletics have been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I believe that great coaches can have a lasting impact on their athletes. My goal as a coach is to create a positive, safe, and supportive environment where players can build confidence, develop their skills, strengthen teamwork, and cultivate a genuine love for the game.

Arianna Nower

Team: 16 White
Years of Coaching Experience: This is my first year!
Years with South KC: This is my first season with SKC!
Bio: I have been playing volleyball since third grade and am currently a sophomore setter at Baker University. I began playing club volleyball at age 13 and gained valuable experience playing for four different clubs and coaches, all while developing as a setter. I attended West Platte High School, where I earned All-State honors three times as an outside hitter. Academically, I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Music, with plans to become a child psychologist. One of the things I love most about volleyball is the versatility it requires. The strongest teams are made up of players who are willing to do whatever the team needs, work hard every day, and support one another both on and off the court. Volleyball is an unpredictable game, and learning to stay consistent regardless of the opponent is often the key to success. As a coach, my goal is to create a positive, supportive, and trusting environment while challenging athletes to compete, improve their skills, and reach their full potential. I am excited to be part of this team and the SKC Volleyball program!

Years of Coaching Experience: 3 years
Years with South KC: 3 years
Bio: I graduated from Kansas State University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and have built my career in fitness, performance, and coaching ever since. My experience includes personal training, group fitness instruction, and sports performance coaching. Since 2020, I’ve been with Orangetheory Fitness, where I currently oversee the fitness operations across three studios in the Kansas City area. As a coach, my goal is to help athletes discover strengths they didn’t know they had while building confidence, consistency, and a strong work ethic.

I began coaching volleyball alongside my mom three years ago, which has been a really special experience. I bring my background in fitness and performance into coaching, creating an environment that is energetic, supportive, and focused on both growth and fundamentals. At the end of the day, I want players to work hard, have fun, and leave the court feeling more confident than when they arrived.
